Flood Risk article published

Phlorum director Dr Paul Beckett has recently had an article published in the magazine Sustainable Solutions where he examines flood risk and government policy relating to flooding.

The November/December edition of the magazine published the article entitled ‘Keeping the flood waters at bay’ which describes the summer’s flooding, illustrates business considerations to flooding, and also focuses on the importance of the government’s Planning Policy Statement (PPS) 25. Paul argues how PPS25 highlights the increasing requirement for Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) so that Local Planning Authorities can ensure projects and developments are both safe and feasible, and to ensure that buildings will be insurable when development occurs in flood plains.
