Wind farming in Cornwall

Today in 1991 was the day Britain’s first turbine wind farm generating electricity started in Delabole in Cornwall.  According to Environmentalists at the time it ‘was about time too’! After all, the British Isles are the windiest in Europe.  Although there has been plenty of opposition the giant white windmills still operate and many more wind farms have started since then.
